This sparked a desire for lynching among the locals. They forcibly entered his home, dragged him outside, beat him, and ultimately set him on fire.
Some people, especially in rural areas of the DRC, still believe in witchcraft and black magic. Witches are seen as individuals who cause illness and misfortune to others. Unfortunately, such accusations often lead to brutal punishments like this one.
