CHAKA, NYERI, KENYA – APRIL 30, 2025 Tragic incident took place at the Swans Business Centre in Nyeri District. The suicidal jumper was encouraged by a cameraman and other onlookers to kill himself. Every time he tried to jump, they started shouting things like “Jump, it’s not far!” or “Before you fall, angels will catch you.” All of this was accompanied by ironic laughter, which didn’t stop even when the man actually jumped from the 6th floor and died.
The incident outraged the general public and sparked a debate about mental health awareness in rural Kenya.
