MUMBAI, INDIA – JANUARY, 2026 Incident occurred in neighborhood of Wadala involving a female client and a massage therapist booked through a mobile application. A forty-six-year-old woman claims that the therapist physically attacked her after she canceled the booked massage and requested a refund. Footage of the scuffle later began circulating on social media.
The woman ordered the massage due to problems with a stiff shoulder. However, after the therapist arrived, she did not feel comfortable because of the therapist’s behavior and the size of the massage table, and therefore decided to cancel the service. According to her statement, the therapist became angry, began verbally abusing her, and then physically attacked her in her own apartment – pulling her hair, punching her, and knocking her to the ground. The victim’s son, who tried to intervene, was also allegedly pushed.
During the conflict, the woman called the police emergency line, but officers arrived only after the therapist had left. The victim subsequently filed a complaint with the police, who registered the case as a non-cognizable offense and launched an investigation.
