BADILLO, VALLEDUPAR, CESAR, COLOMBIA – SEPTEMBER 18, 2025 Incident occurred at El Carreto farm in a rural area of Badillo. A truck driver identified as Giovanny Aguilar Hernández was removing a tarp from his truck to prepare it for loading rice. He did not notice a live high-voltage wire above him and accidentally touched it. The electricity caused extensive external and internal burns and killed him on the spot.

Giovanny was from Valledupar and was well known in the area for his friendly nature, hard work, and reliability. He also served as the treasurer for the truckers’ association in the Cesar department.
