ARGENTINA When the homeowner caught a burglar inside his property, he showed no mercy. He overpowered him and dragged him to a horse stable, where he tied the burglar’s legs together and his hands behind his back. What followed was a cruel and painful whipping.
While taking justice into your own hands may seem like an effective way to deal with such a situation, it is in fact a criminal act. No one has the right to torture or physically punish another person – not even a thief. Doing so can expose you to legal consequences even harsher than those faced by the burglar himself, and there have even been cases where the burglar later returned with friends seeking revenge. Always leave justice to the proper authorities.
