PAMEKASAN, EAST JAVA, INDONESIA – JUNE 30, 2025 JNT Pamekasan delivery courier was attacked and strangled by an aggressive customer. The conflict started over a dispute about the contents of a package.
27-year-old Irwan Siskiyanto works as a courier while studying at university. However, he might reconsider his job after an experience delivering a package to Gedung Pramuka Street in the village of Laden. He was delivering a cash-on-delivery package containing a mobile phone. A woman opened the door, accepted the package, and paid the cash-on-delivery amount of 1,589,235 rupiah (about 110 USD).
Before Irwan left, the woman opened the package but was unhappy with its contents and demanded a refund. The courier tried to explain that they are only the delivery service and that any complaints about the contents must be addressed to the sender. She didn’t understand this and called her husband to the scene.

The woman’s husband acted aggressively right away. He attacked the courier, put him in a chokehold, and strangled him until he nearly lost consciousness. While doing this, he yelled at him to return the money his wife had paid for the package.
