RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 7, 2026 In the São João de Meriti area, near Terminal 110, a property owner was murdered and dismembered by his tenant. The act occurred after a violent dispute regarding unpaid rent. According to information from the investigation, the conflict escalated when the landlord tried to resolve a long-standing debt, after which the tenant physically attacked him and caused him fatal injuries.
After the murder, the perpetrator attempted to dismember the victim’s body to facilitate its disposal and hide traces of the violent act. Police were alerted by witnesses or family members who lacked contact with the victim. He was caught in the act.
