SUDAN – DECEMBER 25, 2025 Short but extremely brutal video circulating on social media shows dozens of dead civilians lying in the desert between El Fasher and Tawila. The footage captures large pools of blood, bodies scattered across the sand, and several people running in panic. According to the woman recording it, the scene is along an escape route, strongly suggesting that the civilians were shot while trying to flee.
The video fits into a wider pattern of violence following the fall of El Fasher in 2025, when thousands of civilians disappeared or were killed while attempting to escape the city. RSF and affiliated Janjaweed militias have long been accused of systematic attacks on civilians.
The conflict in Sudan escalated again in 2023, when the Sudanese army clashed with the Rapid Support Forces. The fighting destabilized the entire country and allowed mass atrocities to unfold in Darfur, with this video standing as one of the most disturbing recent pieces of evidence.
