Execution of James Foley

SYRIA – AUGUST 19, 2014 Propaganda video by the notorious terrorist organization ISIS shows the execution of a Western captive, James Foley. He was a war correspondent from Evanston, Illinois. He devoted most of his career to reporting on conflicts in the Middle East. He was kidnapped by ISIS on November 22, 2012 in Syria and held for more than 600 days in captivity before being executed.

The executioner has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi, but he is better known by his nickname “Jihadi John,” which he was given by the media. In the worst sense of the word, he became famous thanks to this video. John was not some ignorant ISIS recruit. He was a citizen of the united kingdom where he grew up from the age of 6. He even studied computer science at the University of Westminster in London. But he became radicalized during his studies, and when ISIS gained power, he fled to Syria to join them. He died on 12 November 2015 in a US drone strike.

ISIS does not represent Islam. Islam is a religion of peace and compassion, whose values and teachings have nothing to do with the violent acts committed by this organization. Our goal is to inform and educate, not to spread hatred or support violence.
