SOUTH AFRICA Collision between a truck and a passenger car at highway speed claimed three lives. According to all available information, the car driver did not pay enough attention while driving, failed to notice the braking truck ahead, and crashed into its rear.
None of the car’s occupants were wearing seat belts. During the impact, several people were literally catapulted out of the vehicle. The only person, a woman, was lucky enough not to be ejected and managed to survive.
The incident emphasizes the importance of wearing seat belts. Without them, an airbag can become deadly. Seat belts also protect you from being thrown from the car in a crash.
