HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM – JANUARY 30, 2026 Tragic incident in Vietnam began as a minor traffic accident and ended in death. On January 30, Mai Anh Nhat was driving his pickup, taking his daughter to school, when another driver, a 64-year-old man from Ho Chi Minh City, collided with his vehicle.
Nhat got out of his car and, after a brief confrontation, struck the victim multiple times in the head and then kicked him in the side. The man lost consciousness and was later hospitalized with severe brain bleeding. Despite medical treatment, he died on the evening of January 31.
Nhat was arrested for disturbing public order, and investigators are continuing to review the case to determine whether additional crimes were committed during the incident. A security camera video of the attack, which quickly circulated on social media, sparked public outrage over the perpetrator’s violent behavior.
