BANGKOK, THAILAND – SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 In the afternoon, a dramatic incident occurred on Sri Ayutthaya Street near the Sri Ayutthaya building. A foreign national climbed over the railing of a pedestrian bridge and threatened to jump. Police units immediately arrived and began negotiating with the man. After about an hour of persuasion, he jumped.
The victim landed on his head, sustaining serious injuries. Emergency responders had to perform resuscitation on-site before he was transported to Phyathai 1 Hospital. No identification or personal belongings were found on the man. Police are currently working to determine his identity in order to notify the relevant embassy.
