SANTA RITA, PARAÍBA, BRAZIL – MAY 31, 2025 In the suburb of João Pessoa, a brutal murder of a 15-year-old girl identified as Wigna Beatriz took place. She was attacked while visiting a beauty salon to get artificial nails done. Her ex-boyfriend (also a minor) appeared at the scene and started stabbing her frantically. She tried to escape but was caught and stabbed to death.
According to all available information, she received at least ten stab wounds, with at least seven of them in her back. Police investigation confirmed that the motive was his jealousy. The attacker could not accept that Wigna had started a new relationship. The victim’s family reportedly had previously received several death threats sent from a fake Facebook profile.
On June 2, 2025, the suspect was arrested in the Várzea Nova neighborhood in Santa Rita. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. He also stated that he is a drug user and has ties to gangs operating in the city. Another young man who helped him hide was also arrested along with the suspect.
