FRESNILLO, MEXICO – JANUARY, 2024 Passersby found the severed head of a teenage girl on the street in the second largest city of the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Attached to the head was a message from the CDN (Cartel del Noreste) drug cartel, which is active in the area. Local residents said gunshots were heard in the area the night before the discovery. A few meters away, a black plastic bag containing the dismembered remains of her body was found.
