BELÉM, PARÁ, BRAZIL – AUGUST 18, 2025 Crime took place in the afternoon in the Pedreira neighborhood on Travessa Vileta, between Marques de Herval and Visconde Inhaúma streets. A man sitting in one of the local establishments was cold-bloodedly shot in the head by a masked shooter with a .40 caliber pistol. The shooter approached him from behind, leaving him no chance to defend himself. The incident was captured by two security cameras from different angles.
Shocked witnesses immediately called the police and ambulance. They did not attempt first aid, as they saw there was no chance to save him. They also reported seeing the shooter get into a pre-prepared getaway car, which was parked just one street away.
The getaway vehicle, a black Agile, was found and seized in the Terra Firme neighborhood, in the Orquídea complex on Olária street, near a small square within the complex. The police will attempt to recover any evidence from the car that could lead to the capture of the perpetrator.
The victim was identified as William Henrique Furtado Dias. He worked at a local store and had no prior criminal record.
