SÃO LUÍS, MARANHÃO, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 16, 2026 Incident occurred at Residencial Piancó 3, in the Vila Embratel neighborhood. 23-year-old Wesley Rickelme Garcia Silva attacked his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Rafaela Aureliano Ribeiro Moraes, in the hallway of the building. After he stabbed her to death, he jumped from a window. He was fatally injured in the fall.

According to initial information, the murder was motivated by jealousy and a refusal to accept the end of the relationship. Speculation still prevails regarding the death of the attacker.
