SOLEDAD DE GRACIANO SÁNCHEZ, SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MEXICO – APRIL 23, 2022 Near Highway 57, in the San Luis–Matehuala stretch, in the Arroyo de las Capillas area near the Las Capillas settlement, passersby discovered the body of a woman. The victim was partially naked with her underwear pulled down and her hands tied behind her back. She was lying on rocks and was already partially decomposed and damaged by surrounding wildlife.
Police officers called to the scene documented everything thoroughly and then transported her body for a forensic autopsy. There, based on damage to the vaginal and anal walls, it was confirmed that she had been raped either before death or possibly postmortem. The exact cause of her death has not been released.
