KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA STRIPE, PALESTINE – MAY 17, 2025 High-ranking Hamas commander, Yousef Musa Al-Akhras, was killed along with his wife and child in an IDF airstrike in the south of the Gaza Strip. His death caused great outrage among local residents, as several dozen other people, mostly children, were also killed or injured. He is said to have deliberately kept them close to him as human shields because he was afraid to hide in a tunnel, where he would have been certain that the IDF would target him.

Al-Akhras was considered an important figure in the military leadership of Hamas, and his death is seen as a significant blow to the structure of this organization. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified targeted operations against Hamas leaders in recent months, especially in the Khan Younis area, which is considered one of the main strongholds of this movement.
The videos come from random witnesses who recorded the attack itself, but mainly the horrific aftermath, which can be considered a massacre. Unfortunately, this is war.
