Initial painful treatment of injured legs after motorcycle accident

Young man had a serious motorcycle accident. Although he was incredibly lucky to survive, he suffered severe injuries to his legs. The asphalt, combined with high speed, literally tore apart his right calf and scraped off his left foot.

Videos show his initial treatment after being taken to the hospital. Doctors are cleaning the wounds while he is fully conscious, without any anesthesia or sedation. The patient is screaming in pain at the top of his lungs.

Sometimes there are valid reasons to treat a patient even if it means putting them through extreme pain. These can include heavy blood loss, a concussion, brain trauma, or unstable blood pressure. But in some cases, the most relevant reason is simply the urgent need to act fast.
