ISIS attack on members of Popular Mobilization Forces

MUKAYSHIFA, SALAHUDDIN PROVINCE, IRAQ, 2020 Popular Mobilization Forces are a paramilitary group formed in Iraq in 2014 after ISIS came to power. These forces were made up of a collection of various militias, mostly Shiite, but also Sunni, Christian, and Yazidi. Their main goal was to defend the country against ISIS. This made the PMF one of ISIS’s main enemies in Iraq, which is why they frequently became targets of their attacks. The photos show one such attack near the town of Mukayshifa. Six PMF members and several ISIS terrorists were killed during it.
