TIANGUÁ, CEARÁ, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 18, 2021 Incident took place in the outdoor area of a nightclub known for the presence of sex workers. A group of people sitting at a table was enjoying their night out when an angry woman suddenly ran in and started shooting. 26-year-old Djaiane Batista Barros fell dead at the scene. One man was injured.

It later emerged that the attacker was the wife of one of the men at the table. She was motivated by anger and jealousy when she saw her husband sitting at the table with Djaiane. According to her, she did not intend to kill; she originally claimed she only wanted to fire into the air to scare them away.
Immediately after the shooting, the attacker was disarmed by her husband, who held her until the police arrived. She was then taken into custody and charged with murder and grievous bodily harm.
