GULF COUNTY, FLORIDA, USA – AUGUST 15, 2025 Officers from the Port St. Joe department responded to a report about an armed woman. When they arrived, the suspect was inside a white Ford vehicle, holding a knife. Under the threat of drawn firearms, officers repeatedly commanded her to unlock the car doors and exit without the knife. She did not comply, and when she stepped out, she still held the knife and ran toward one of the responding female officers. The officers responded appropriately by using their service weapons.
The suspect suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided first aid and called emergency medical services. She was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay hospital, where doctors reportedly stabilized her condition.
The police department released bodycam footage from the responding officers, urging the public not to spread misinformation or rumors, as the investigation is still ongoing.
