KOK THOM, PREAH NET PREAH, CAMBODIA – JUNE 16, 2025 In the small village of Kok Thom, near the border with Thailand, a horrifying family tragedy took place. A 33-year-old man murdered his 6-year-old nephew, Chhim Kimchheak, by chopping off his head with a hoe and burying it behind the house in a rice field.

According to all available information, it all started with an argument, after which the little boy began verbally insulting his uncle. The man lost control, grabbed a knife, and started stabbing him furiously. After the boy’s death, he severed his head with a hoe and buried it in the soil of the rice field behind the house.
The suspect
The perpetrator confessed to the murder and is now awaiting the end of the investigation and a subsequent trial in police custody. Cambodian authorities have promised the angry public a transparent and fair trial.
