LIMA, PERU – AUGUST 15, 2025 Hitmen came for their victims, a man and a woman, directly inside the busy Colombian restaurant El Rinconcito Colombiano, located in the San Martín de Porres district, on the 30th block of Avenue Universitaria, near the border with Los Olivos. Despite the restaurant being full of people who could have been endangered, they began shooting recklessly. While one attacker entered and fired at close range, at least three others shot through the storefront from outside. The attack resulted in the man’s death and left the woman severely injured.
According to witnesses, the attackers arrived on at least two motorcycles and numbered at least four. Over 30 spent bullet casings of various types were collected both inside and outside the restaurant, indicating the use of multiple kinds firearms.
Both victims were foreign nationals, reportedly from Armenia. The injured woman was said to be the sister of the deceased man. Current information on her condition is unavailable, but some unofficial sources claim she died shortly after being transported to the hospital.
The investigation into the identities of the perpetrators and their motives is ongoing. Online commentators speculate that the attackers were leaders of a criminal group from Armenia who had come to Peru to negotiate drug shipments.
