VIETNAM Photos taken during the Vietnam War (1955-1975) show dead Viet Cong soldiers and the uncensored horrors of war. The Viet Cong was a guerrilla force in communist North Vietnam that aimed to overthrow the US-backed government of South Vietnam. Although they were not as well equipped as American or South Vietnamese soldiers, their guerrilla style of fighting was very effective.
