KHABAROVSK, KHABAROVSK KRAI, RUSSIA – AUGUST 20, 2017 Tragic incident ended in the death of the European powerlifting champion Andrey Drachev. In front of a cafe, he got into a banal dispute with an amateur MMA fighter, Anar Allakhveranov, about whether brute force or martial arts is more effective.
Camera recordings revealed that Drachev, despite his massive physique, could not withstand the attacker’s speed. After a precise kick to the head, he fell to the ground, where Allakhveranov finished him off with several punches. The champion succumbed to severe brain trauma in the hospital, and the attacker was later sentenced to 18 years in prison.
