BELFORD ROXO, RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – JANUARY 30, 2026 In the Bom Pastor district, a brutal murder of a mototaxi driver took place. The man was shot dead directly inside a scrap metal yard, where he had arrived for work. According to police, it was a targeted execution.
The attacker acted with cold calculation. He surprised the victim inside the scrapyard, fired several shots at him with a rifle, and immediately fled the scene. The wounded man had no chance of survival – he died before paramedics arrived.
Initial findings by investigators suggest that the murdered man worked as a money collector for the criminal faction Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP). This allegedly caused tension with the rival group Comando Vermelho (CV), which considers the area its territory. According to police, the conflict between these gangs is the main motive for the murder.
The crime scene was sealed off, forensic investigators carried out an examination, and the victim’s body was taken to the medical examiner. Police later searched the surrounding area, but the suspect has not yet been caught.
