RECIFE, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – NOVEMBER 18, 2025 Dead body of a 21-year-old woman identified as Thaissa Muniz de Melo was found in the home of her ex-partner, 22-year-old Henryque Cassiano da Silva, in the Várzea neighborhood. When discovered, she was lying completely naked on the bathroom floor with both arms separated from her body – likely in an attempt to dispose of the body.

The horrific discovery was made by the victim’s mother. When Thaissa didn’t return home from a lecture, she grew worried and posted her photos on social media asking for help. She was contacted by one of Henryque’s former partners, who warned her about his extremely violent nature. That was enough reason for her to go to his house.
Henryque was arrested, placed in custody, and is facing a femicide charge. During a search of the home, bloody tools used in the murder or dismemberment were found under the washing machine.
Thaissa was described by everyone as a kind and ambitious woman. She made a living as a pastry chef, selling and making custom cakes through social media.
