SAN MARTIN, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA – FEBRUARY 27, 2026 Off-duty police officer became a victim of a car theft gang just as he was getting out of his car. The entire incident, which lasted only a few seconds, was captured by a security camera.
The footage shows at least three armed men approaching the officer. Although the victim offered no resistance and raised his hands above his head, one of the attackers shot him from behind while leaving. The bullet hit the officer in the lower back area, and he immediately collapsed onto the sidewalk. While the perpetrators sped away with the stolen vehicle, the injured man remained lying on the ground.
He was rushed to Thompson Hospital, where he underwent surgery. According to the latest reports, his condition is stabilized, but the attackers are still at large.
