LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, USA – JUNE 9, 2025 Deputies from the Century Station responded to a reported home burglary on the 3300 block of Los Flores Boulevard in the city of Lynwood. Upon arrival, they learned that a man, later identified as 45-year-old Federico Rodriguez, had broken into the home and was still inside with the victim.
When deputies saw him through a window holding a dangerous object – determined to be a pair of scissors – they decided to enter the home immediately to save the victim. After hearing the victim scream, they forced the door open and entered. In the hallway, they witnessed Rodriguez actively stabbing the victim. One of the deputies quickly used his service weapon and fired several rounds to stop the attack, killing the assailant.
