RURKI, UTTARAKHAND, INDIA – DECEMBER 3, 2025 87-year-old man identified as Dilawar sat down on the edge of the road in front of the Jama Masjid mosque due to fatigue. However, he was not noticed by the driver of a white Toyota Fortuner SUV, which was parked nearby. During a maneuver to leave the parking space, the vehicle ran over him. Dilawar remained trapped under the vehicle in serious condition.
With the help of local residents, the man was freed and urgently transported to the nearest hospital. Despite all efforts by the doctors, his life could not be saved.
The driver and his passenger acted correctly by stopping at the scene and helping provide first aid. However, immediately after Dilawar was handed over to medical care, they fled without cooperating with the police. Authorities are currently conducting an intensive search for them.
