GUATEMALA CITY, ATLÁNTICO PROVINCE, GUATEMALA – AUGUST 7, 2022 27-year-old Jennifer Karina Hernández was a passionate motorcyclist and a well-known member of a racing club. She tragically died at the 39th kilometer of the Guatemala–Atlántico highway less than a month after getting a new and powerful motorcycle.

The exact circumstances of the accident are not entirely known. She was traveling with her friends from the club. Some testified that she lost control of the motorcycle. Others said they saw her skid. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
Jennifer’s grieving family stated that she had to sell swimsuits, underwear, and work as an amateur model for several months to save up for the new machine. Her new motorcycle was reportedly significantly more powerful and heavier than the one she was used to.
