LINARES, MAULE, CHILE – OCTOBER, 2025 During a car race at the Las Toscas racetrack near Linares, Chile, a serious accident occurred in which one of the drivers was thrown from his vehicle. The driver, identified as Víctor Hernández from the Pitrufquén area in the Araucanía region, lost control of the car at high speed, rolled over, and was ejected several meters off the track after impact.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived immediately, stabilized the man, and transported him to the provincial hospital in Linares. According to initial reports, the driver was not in immediate life-threatening danger, but his condition remained serious and doctors did not release an exact diagnosis.
Authorities later began investigating the circumstances of the crash. The incident raised questions about safety measures, as race cars are normally equipped with roll cages, five-point harnesses, and special door restraints designed to prevent situations like this.
