COLOMBO, SRI LANKA – JULY 31, 2025 Fatal accident occurred in the Millagahamulawa area. A man, the driver, with his wife riding behind him on a scooter, were carelessly overtaking a truck. During the maneuver, their wheel slipped, and both fell directly under the truck’s wheels.
While the man suffered severe injuries and was transported to and hospitalized at Navalapitiya Hospital, his wife was not so lucky. The truck completely crushed her, and she died at the scene.
The victim was identified as 44-year-old Nayee Janirigram, a mother of two and resident of the Moradana Mohideen Masjid area. It was also found that the couple was on their way to Navalapitiya Hospital to visit a friend undergoing treatment there.
