Nigeria’s Borno State is considered extremely dangerous, and most countries in the world do not recommend their citizens travel there. It is the epicenter of the Boko Haram terrorist group and the African branch of ISIS. Furthermore, many organized criminal groups of all sizes operate there. Borno is very remote and borders three countries, making it a strategic location for these organizations. It is very difficult for the government to control this territory, but they still try through similar military actions and a military presence.
