Severely decomposed body found in rural area of Petrolina, Brazil

PETROLINA, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 8, 2025 Near the village of Ponta da Serra in the rural area of Petrolina, a body was found in a very advanced stage of decomposition – almost only bones remained. According to preliminary findings, the victim appears to have been a man, but this can only be confirmed with 100% certainty after a forensic autopsy. Forensic experts will also work on identifying him and determining the exact cause of death.
