MANAVGAT, ANTALYA, TURKEY – MARCH 20, 2026 Entire incident took place in the evening at a small family-owned shop in the Yukarı Pazarcı neighborhood, where the victim got into a heated argument with 25-year-old Hakan Kılıç, the son of the business owner. The subject of the dispute was an alleged financial debt, which resulted in a tragic confrontation directly among the store shelves.

According to security camera footage and the police investigation, the attacker first physically assaulted the young man and subsequently shot him at point-blank range with a handgun. Hasan Şimşek sustained fatal chest injuries and died at the scene. A shocking detail of the case is that shortly after the crime, the perpetrator was found to have an extreme Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.387%, which likely contributed to his uncontrolled aggressive behavior.
Immediately after the crime, police detained not only the shooter but also his father, the shop owner. The investigation revealed that the murder weapon was registered to the father and was being kept illegally on the premises. Both men were taken into custody after questioning and face charges for their involvement in this violent felony.
