KHULNA, BANGLADESH – MARCH 4, 2026 In the Bangladeshi city of Khulna, a brutal murder took place involving former union leader Mina Masum Billah. He was attacked while shopping for Eid at the Bata Market store in the busy Dakbangla area, right in front of his daughter.

According to witnesses, a group of around seven armed men stormed into the shop and opened fire on him. After he collapsed to the ground, the attackers struck him several more times with sharp weapons to make sure he wouldn’t survive, then fled the scene. The severely wounded man was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
During the escape, one of the attackers was captured by local residents. Police reportedly found a foreign-made pistol on him. The motive remains unclear, but investigators have not ruled out personal revenge or conflicts linked to union activity or politics.
