NABEREZHNYE CHELNY, TATARSTAN, RUSSIA 35-year-old fisherman, during his time in nature, slipped on wet ground, fell, and impaled his eye directly on a protruding branch. When he rushed to the hospital, doctors took an X-ray and discovered how incredibly lucky he was. The piece of wood stopped just 0.3 inches (8 mm) from his brain. What’s even more interesting is that the doctors managed to save his eyesight. After removing small debris and stitching up the wound, he went home.
