URUARÁ, PARÁ, BRAZIL – JUNE 9, 2025 At the roadside chapel, a dead body was found with a gunshot wound to the head. A weapon lying next to the body suggested it was a suicide, which was later confirmed. The deceased was identified as 37-year-old Genilson Francisco dos Reis.

Genilson was accused of murdering the singer, 36-year-old Diorlando Gomes Cardoso, and shooting the singer’s brother, Raimundo Benedito Gomes Cardoso. Diorlando had finished his performance at a bar in Altamira and got into an argument with Genilson over a woman. Genilson was the former partner of Diorlando’s ex-wife. Unfortunately, the conflict escalated into a shooting that ended with the singer’s death.
Genilson apparently feared the legal consequences of his actions and decided to end it all. He recorded about a seven-minute video in which he describes his version of the story. He claimed he did not want to kill anyone but was forced to defend himself. In the recording, he also expressed his intention to commit suicide. According to him, it was Diorlando who provoked him with remarks about sleeping with his ex.
