BANG SAO THONG, SAMUT PRAKAN, THAILAND – JULY 15, 2024 Thirty-year-old Vassana Sonphakdee, an employee of Swan Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd., was involved in a fatal traffic accident while returning home from work. For unknown reasons, she lost control of her moped and drove onto the sidewalk. She lost her balance and fell into the road right in front of a moving truck, which ran over her head and completely crushed her. The accident occurred at the traffic lights in the Bang Phli New Town area, on Thepharak Road, kilometer 21.
Shortly after the incident, the victim’s husband arrived at the scene and nearly collapsed at the sight of his crushed wife. Rescue workers and police officers had to assist him to help calm him down. The truck driver, Sitthikon Uankham, although not at fault for the accident, offered the family a personal contribution of 10,000 THB (300 USD) to help with funeral expenses.
