MEXICO – AUGUST 28, 2005 Driver of a passenger car lost control of the vehicle and drove it off the road. None of the car’s occupants, besides him, which included his wife and two children, were wearing seat belts. This caused all of them to be thrown from the vehicle as it rolled over the roof. All were dead at the scene.
The incident serves as a reminder of how important it is to use seat belts. Using one takes only a few seconds and can mean the difference between life and death. Nowadays, when most vehicles are equipped with airbags, a seat belt can save your life even in a low-speed crash. Without a seat belt, an airbag alone can be fatal.
