PEREIRA, RISARALDA, COLOMBIA – JULY 25, 2025 In the rural area of Pereira, specifically in the village of Yurumito, two dead women were found. Both were lying face down, had gunshot wounds, and showed signs of brutal torture. While one was executed with three shots to the head, the other had eight gunshot wounds all over her body.
With the help of local residents, the police were able to identify the victims as “La Mona” and “La Barbie.” The official motive has not yet been confirmed, but the investigation is exploring several theories ranging from a settling of scores, connections to criminal gangs, to gender-based violence.
