BRAZIL Man lost control of his motorcycle due to high speed and crashed. The helmets they were wearing likely saved both his and his passenger’s lives. However, both suffered serious lower-body injuries. One sustained an open fracture of the femur, while the other’s foot was left hanging only by the remaining tissue.
The incident highlights the importance of wearing protective motorcycle gear. Shorts are probably the least suitable clothing for riding a motorcycle. Even in summer temperatures, it is crucial to wear protective gear, which in the event of an accident can make the difference between serious injury and minor bruises, or between life and death.
