PARIS, FRANCE – MAY 13, 2025 In Paris’s 11th district, on Rue Pache, a brutal attack occurred in the early morning hours against a 34-year-old woman and her two-year-old child. Three armed assailants approached her in a van disguised as a delivery vehicle. At an unexpected moment, they jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to drag the woman and her child inside and kidnap them.
The attackers were met with unexpected resistance. The woman screamed and fought back, and her partner, who was present at the scene, also bravely stood up to the attackers. Random passersby also came to their aid. Some reports indicate that her partner suffered a stab wound during the scuffle.
The assault ended when one of the bystanders picked up a weapon that had fallen from one of the attackers and pointed it at them. At that moment, the attackers panicked, aborted the attempt, and fled back into the van. The vehicle was later found abandoned on a street. The perpetrators managed to escape.
Besides severe psychological trauma, no one was seriously injured. Only her partner was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police are investigating the case as an attempted kidnapping and violent assault.
According to French media, the attack may have been financially motivated. The woman attacked is the daughter of a very wealthy cryptocurrency entrepreneur who has previously been the target of extortion. On that occasion, the blackmailers kidnapped him, tortured him, and even cut off part of his finger.
