66-year-old woman, who had long been struggling with schizoaffective psychosis, was found dead by her neighbor on the basement floor of her home. She was lying in a pool of blood with her throat slashed, next to a circular saw.
Although everything initially pointed to suicide, investigators were intrigued by the fact that the saw was turned off when her body was found. However, even this inconsistency was ultimately explained by the possibility that she had turned off the saw herself through agonizing body movements. The case was officially closed as a suicide.
Her family stated that the victim had shown severe suicidal tendencies in the weeks leading up to her death. She frequently expressed her suicidal thoughts publicly.
