QARAGHANDY, KAZAKHSTAN – OCTOBER 10, 2021 The video shows the tragic moment when 33-year-old Yevgenia Leontyeva fell from a height of 80 feet (24 meters) during an extreme jump called free-flying. This activity is basically like bungee jumping, but instead of an elastic cord, the jumper is attached to a fixed nylon rope that doesn’t stretch. The jumper swings like a pendulum.

After the fall, Yevgenia still showed some signs of life. She was rushed to the hospital with a critical head injury but sadly passed away shortly after. She left behind three children – two of her own and a nephew she was raising after his parents died.
According to all available information, the tragedy was likely caused by the safety rope not being tied to a tree. Police have immediately launched a criminal investigation into her death. If negligence is proven on the part of the organizers, they face only up to 40 days in jail.
Yevgenia had been a longtime adrenaline enthusiast, and this was not her first jump of this kind. She and her husband frequently traveled for similar experiences. He was the one behind the camera recording her tragic jump. Just before she jumped, he told her, “I love you.”
