CARUARU, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – JULY 20, 2025 The woman sent voice and video messages full of fear, pain, and accusations of violence by her partner Gustavo to several acquaintances. Then she took her life and hanged herself.
She complained about being overwhelmed by household duties: “I cleaned the whole house, washed the dishes, cleaned up the dog’s poop, and put everything in order. What was the point when I woke up and had to do everything again from scratch?” Then she started breaking dishes in the kitchen in despair.
In other messages, she complained about violence from Gustavo: “He held me by the neck and wanted to kill me. I fainted and he stopped only when I lost consciousness. He wants to kill me and now everyone will see it. Please share these messages with your contacts so that as many people as possible see them.”
Her friends became worried about her and contacted the police. However, when the police arrived at the scene, they found the woman dead in her apartment. She had hanged herself.
The day after her death, three videos spread on social networks showing that during her mental breakdown two men were present with her in the apartment. The last of the three videos is the most terrifying – they were probably present even during her suicide. The hanging woman can be seen showing some signs of life – she twitches and urinates. They just stand and watch her.
The police are currently investigating not only the cause of her death but also the identity of the men from the video. It is assumed that it was Gustavo with some friend of his. Although the victim probably hanged herself, because there were no signs of violence, failure to provide first aid is a punishable crime in Brazil and can lead to imprisonment. The accusation of domestic violence will also be investigated.
