MANAUS, AMAZONAS, BRAZIL – JUNE, 2015 Video shows the brutal consequence of a car accident and highlights the need to use seat belts in cars. The woman was not wearing a seat belt and hit her head on the dashboard during the crash. It tore off almost her entire face and fractured her skull so badly that one of her eyes popped out of its socket. She was incredibly lucky to survive. If she receives proper medical care, she will likely have no permanent damage apart from a few scars.
Emilyn Ribeiro
The victim was identified as Emilyn Ribeiro. The accident was caused by four men who stole a taxi and crashed it into a minibus at high speed. The minibus was thrown and collided with the vehicle in which Emilyn was sitting. The perpetrators were reportedly caught by local residents and lynched before the police arrived.
