CHINA – MAY 1, 2025 Pickup truck driver forgot to engage the handbrake while parking, which led to a tragic accident. The vehicle began moving on its own backward and hit a woman on the stairs. No information is available on whether she survived or not. According to the footage, however, it seems that, unfortunately, she had very little chance.
Under Anglo-Saxon law, and in most other countries, the driver of the vehicle is responsible for such an accident. The driver has a duty to ensure the car is parked safely and must foresee the consequences of their actions. If the car starts moving on its own, it is considered negligence. If someone is killed, the driver faces charges of involuntary manslaughter.
